CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (September 20, 2022) – University of Virginia’s rising women’s basketball star Yonta Vaughn has officially landed a sponsorship deal with The Good Feet Store. Throughout the long-term partnership, Vaughn will work with The Good Feet Store to promote the brand on social media, host meet and greets with fans at local stores, and make appearances at charity or non-profit events in the area. She will also get the chance to test drive the The Good Feet Store’s signature 3-Step System for arch support and work the custom insoles into her daily wear.
Vaughn is a new member of the Wahoo family, but she is already making a big impact on the community. The nationally-ranked four star point guard out of Bishop McNamara High School was committed to West Virginia until a coaching change reopened her recruitment and ultimately brought her to Charlottesville. Her contagious energy, ambition, and positivity have been a welcome addition to the program. Vaughn says relationships are what really guided her entire recruitment process, and she’s taken the same approach to NIL opportunities.
“When Cav Futures reached out about the opportunity, I was extremely excited to see what the NIL world was about.” Vaughn shared. “It meant a lot to me that the Good Feet family took the time to meet with me personally, and that helped me know right away that they were family orientated, cared about their product and who they invest in. I couldn’t wait to get started!”
Good Feet franchise owner Jonathan Cotten knew well before anyone else that Yonta was the perfect match for Good Feet. A major Hoo fan, Cotten was quick to get involved with NIL at UVA and signed men’s basketball stars Jayden Gardner and Kihei Clark to similar sponsorship deals. As he set out to expand Good Feet’s NIL footprint, he prioritized supporting female student-athletes and combed through social media for the right fit. Yonta Vaughn’s profile made a big impression, and Cavalier Futures stepped in to make the connection.
“All I saw on Yonta’s social media was maturity, humility, and gratitude. Total alignment with our brand and every interaction since has been nothing but confirmation,” Cotten explained in a recent Tweet.
“Working with Yonta has been a huge blessing.” Said Lo Davis, Executive Director of Cavalier Futures. “We are excited to build on our relationship with her, and grateful to The Good Feet Store for their enthusiastic support of NIL at UVA.”
Cav Futures is a Virginia non-stock corporation providing an inclusive marketplace for UVA student-athletes to capitalize on their NIL. This collaboration with The Good Feet Store marks their 7th individual NIL sponsorship after partnering with Hilldrup (Keytaon Thompson, Dontayvion Wicks), McDonald’s (Rebecca Jarrett, Brennan Armstrong), and Reines & Rogers (Dontayvion Wicks, Jonas Sanker).
