Cav Futures Welcomes Hayes Smith to Board of Directors
University of Virginia alum Hayes Smith has joined Cav Futures as the newest member of the Board of Directors. Smith is a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Credit Suisse and serves as the Co-head of the East Coast Financial Sponsors Group. He has been with Credit Suisse for 22 years.
Smith joined Credit Suisse First Boston in November 2000, when the bank merged with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. At DLJ, he was an associate in the Financial Sponsors Group. Prior to that, Smith was an associate attorney at Mayer Brown and Platt in New York.
Smith has been a long-time supporter of UVA and UVA athletics. He received his B.A. in History from the University of Virginia, and his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Virginia School of Law and the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia, respectively. Smith is very active in recruiting UVA students and student athletes to careers in finance.
Smith lives in Washington, DC with his wife and four children (Tyler, Olivia, Hayes Jr and Graham) who have all embraced the Hoos.
Hayes Smith serves on the Board of Trustees for the Beauvoir School at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC where he serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee and previously served as the Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee.
Smith also currently serves as the Chairman of the Eli Banana Fund board at UVA. Welcome to the team, Hayes!
